Turkey Package Tours (Flying the Magic Carpet)

This itinerary is a full cover for the highlights of West, Central and South Turkey. You will find yourself lost in ancient Roman Ruins one day, the other day you’ll feel like a caveman and at least you’ll feel like a Queen viewing the marvelous turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.

Day 1
Izmir: Pick up at Bus station or Airport. Upon arrival in Selcuk start the full day ‘Ephesus tour’. This tour is taking you to the world famous Ephesus ancient city. The best place in the world to get the feeling of what life was like in Roman times. Proceed to the House of Virgin Mary. The Vatican has recognized this small house in the Solmissos Mountains as the final resting place of the Virgin Mary. A small shrine dedicated to St. Mary was found when the ruins of the house were first discovered. Finish your day visiting the Artemis Temple, remains of what was once one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Overnight at Beach Hotel in Kusadasi.Optional: Trip to nearby mountain village Sirince, stone-and-stucco houses with red-tile roofs, incredible varieties of fruit wines, narrow streets with colorful shops. Day 2
Pamukkale: Early departure, drive to Pamukkale (the cotton castle) which is a spectacular site. See the wonderful calcium formations of the travertine and watch the cataracts falling into basins at the bottom of the mountain. Take off your shoes and walk in the calcium rich waters. Visit the ancient Greco-Roman city of Hierapolis, its largest Necropolis in Asia Minor, thermal baths, great theater, temples, and streets. Transfer to Bus station for overnight bus to Cappadocia.
Day 3
Cappadocia: Arrive in Cappadocia, pick up at Bus station and transfer to Agency. After a short break start your first day tour in Cappadocia. Our ‘In the Caves’ tour will take you to the north part of the region. The tour starts with a short walk in the Red Valley which will take you to Cavusin Village, which is the location of a spectacular rock castle that once housed everyone in the village. Proceed to Pashabagları also called the Monks Valley. This peaceful, attractive valley is famous for its three-headed fairy chimneys. The next stop is Avanos village, situated on the banks of the Red river it is the home for the Potters of the region. Overnight at Cave Hotel in Cappadocia.
Day 4
Cappadocia Pick up at Hotel lobby for the ‘Under the ground’ tour. Today indeed will take you underground. First stop of your tour will be ‘Esentepe’ which is one of the best points overlooking Göreme Village and the valley. Proceed from there to Derinkuyu Underground City one of the best preserved and most visited Underground Cities in Cappadocia. The next stop is İhlara Valley, walk about 4 km following the river down the valley and exploring the hidden churches. At the end of your walk a restaurant by the river is awaiting you for lunch at Belisirma. On the return road there is another stop at the Pigeon Valley and Uchisar Castle. Transfer to Bus station and overnight bus to Antalya.
Day 5
Antalya: After pick up at Bus station proceed to the Agency for a refreshing cup of Tea. Today’s tour will take you along the Turquoise Coasts of the Mediterranean. Called the PAS tour (Perge – Aspendos – Side); on this tour you will visit three different ancient sides left to us from the Roman periods. Take of with Perge Ancient City, which is a grand exhibit of what an ancient Greek and Roman city looked like; continue to Side, a port city today as it was also in the past. The ancient site of Pamphyilia’s largest port lies direct behind modern Side. On the return road Manavgat Waterfall is where you may take a nice cool rest, sitting right next to the falls. Last stop today is Aspendos; one of the best preserved theatres of the antique world seating 15,000 dating back to 160-180 AD.Overnight in Antalya.
Day 6
Antalya: Pick up at lobby after breakfast and proceed for today’s ‘Demre, Kekova, St. Nicolas tour’. Drive along the coast, enjoying the beautiful view of the turquoise waters on your right and the colorful forest mountains on your left. Reach Demre which is housing the ruins of Myra city and rock tombs that can be found on the slope of a mountain. Continue from there in order to reach ‘the Church of St.Nicolas’ the hero of our childhood. Proceed to Kekova (Sunken Ancient city) on the north shore of Kekova, the ruins of a city, whose large part has sunk under sea, can be viewed. At the end of your tour return to Antalya.
